PT Sari Husada. was established in 1954 by bearing the name of NV Saridele, as a realization of the national protein adequacy program motorized by the Government of
Indonesia and the United Nation Organization. Sari Husada pioneered the development and production of baby milks by launching SGM in 1965 that is consistently popular among and accepted by the public community until nowadays. Its products have been steadily developing, from formula milk to various food products for babies and children.
In 1968 NV Saridele was owned by a state enterprise, PT Kimia Farma. Then, in 1972 the name NV Saridele was changed to Sari Husada under a joint venture of PT Kimia Farma and PT Tiga Raksa. In 1983, shares in Sari Husada were traded in the
Jakarta Stock Exchange and in 1992 a large part of shares in Sari Husada were held by PT Tiga Raksa. In 1998, in order to support its position in the global competitive world, Sari Husada allied with Nutricia
International BV (Royal Numico). In 2007, Sari Husada officially became a private company and its shares were no longer listed at The
Jakarta Stock Exchange and
Surabaya Stock Exchange. In the end of 2007, Danone Groupe acquired Royal Numico and the Danone Groupe now becomes the majority shareholders of Sari Husada
Sari Husada produces various kinds of international standard milk products for babies and children at affordable prices — from growth milks to special milks for infants who are lactose sensitive and babies who are born with low weight. Sari Husada also provide milks for pregnant and breast-feeding mothers. Its production is conducted in its own factories in
Yogyakarta and Klaten areas, West Java.
