PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk. ( "XL" or the "Company") was established on 6 October 1989 with the name of PT Lestari Grahametropolitan engaged in the field of trade and public services.

In 1995, along with the cooperation between the Rajawali Group - the shareholders - with several foreign investors (Nynex, AIF and Mitsui), PT Lestari Grahametropolitan change the name to PT Excelcomindo Pratama with main business activity as the basic services teleponi.

XL began operating a commercial on 8 October 1996 to provide basic services teleponi using GSM 900 technology. In its development, XL also obtain the permits Penyelenggaraan Mobile Cellular Network technology for DCS 1800, Permit Penyelenggaraan Stay Closed Network, The Licensed Internet Service (Internet Protocol Services / ISP) and Internet Service Permit Penyelenggaraan Teleponi necessity for the Public (Voice over Internet Protocol / VoIP) . In 2006, XL obtained the permits Penyelenggaraan Seluler for 3G technology in commercial and meluncurkannya in September 2006.

Until now, XL has established more than 14,000 towers Base transceiver Station (BTS) in Indonesia to serve more than 22 million customers. And XL is committed to continuously improving the quality and coverage selulernya in the future, so that the communication needs of our customers can always walk at any time, anywhere.

To provide service and support for its customers, to the I quarter of 2007 was more than 156 outlets XL Center in Indonesia, supported by the Contact Center services who are always ready to provide information to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2006, the official XL obtain 3G licenses, and the addition of innovative 3G services, the XL customers are pampered with the presence of support Video Contact Center, a service-based customer support 3G technology.
