REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Technical Director Forefront Medical Technology

LOCATION: Xiamen, China

ROLE SUMMARY:
The strategy is to build a China based manufacturing organisation focusing specifically on the Forefront capabilities and as such Forefront is seeking to appoint a Business Development Director based in Xiamen China. The successful candidate will work closely with Forefrontís leadership team to win new business for our Xiamen and Singapore facilities. Key to the role will be to develop new customers and manage the customer relationship and be a key member of Forefrontís Management team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • His core responsibilities would include: Establish strategic sales plans and objectives.
  • Have a readymade ď prospect listĒ and customers that will come to fruition in 2009
  • Responsible to drive sales year on year that comprehensively meet profitability and revenue targets.
  • Provides direction, guidance and support to the operating divisions in order to ensure alignment with the strategy and execution of the tactics developed for the client
  • Accountable for understanding the customerís overall strategy and direction in 1-5 year timeframe
  • Ensures all RFQ responses and proposals are complete, accurate, on time and consistent with the overall account strategy
  • Conducts contract and agreement negotiations including the development and execution of the negotiation mandate and strategy
  • Performs analysis qualifications and determines new opportunities.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess tertiary education with ten years of applicable experience of which five years in a senior management capacity. Experience in the Medical Device Manufacturing, Moulding and Precision Tooling industries is advantageous
  • Strong leadership and communications skills and proven ability to influence
  • Candidate will possess maturity, integrity and ability to perform under pressure.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Strong written and spoken English ability. Ability to speak other languages would be an advantage

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
  • The successful candidate should preferably come from the same or similar industry.
  • Besides the ability to communicate and verbalize effectively in fairly technical terms, the successful candidate must also have strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and customer-management and customer relationship skills
  • The successful candidate should have excellent contacts and to be held in high and credible regard with these customers.
  • The candidate should have the teamwork and operating savviness to deal with the nuances of cultures of all customers and stakeholders, including dealing effectively with internal peers, operations, the technical teams and staff
